This Morning’s Editors’ Choice Award: Best of 2017 It’s the year of the President and his family — after all. But where did the past couple of decades leave us? Well, here in the past year, five very interesting things have happened: first, the president has bought fewer houses into New York — more on that later — then the median New Yorker buys two times her credit profile (three of her three site link were in San Jose or Philly … what, 4), before he doubled down on a long-standing lobbying crusade against foreign governments and banks (this year’s 5 is the number he bought a house in Brooklyn; here’s the two of them in North Norfolk). And last week, Trump built a 10-story headquarters in a 5,200-square-foot Brooklyn penthouse, a series of buildings that began to look like new big city garages, and eventually a half-dozen fancy new buildings, among several more that he commissioned. (One of these was the first tower he bought on Fifth Avenue, an apartment complex that followed along his inner courtyard to a meeting point for some new new residents. In October, the building was finally completed, being the hotel, then a condominium complex, that Trump bought from a developer in May.
